At our homeschool community, we understand that the journey of homeschooling is not one to be traveled alone. It's about building connections, sharing experiences, and creating memorable moments with fellow parents and children. That's why we're thrilled to offer a diverse and inviting calendar of events that bring families together in exciting ways.
Parents, don't feel left out. We know that homeschooling can be a rewarding yet demanding journey. That's why we host special "Mom's Night Out" events, where you can relax, unwind, and connect with fellow homeschooling parents. It's a chance to recharge and share stories, laughter, and support.
Our calendar is a tapestry of experiences, designed to enrich your homeschooling adventure and create lasting bonds within our community. We invite you to join us and plug into a world of exciting events that will not only enhance your child's education but also fill your family's life with warmth, joy, and meaningful connections. Come and be a part of something truly special
About Us
Welcome to our vibrant community of homeschooling families who gather every Monday throughout the school year. Operated entirely by volunteers, every member's contribution directly supports enriching experiences for our children. We firmly believe in the power of collaboration, working together to create exceptional opportunities for our kids. Our dedicated team includes parents, grandparents, and even student volunteers who share their expertise. In addition to our engaging Monday classes, we organize monthly field trips, unforgettable seasonal celebrations, and a special mom's night out.
Our desire the last 11 years has been to love and serve homeschoolers in our area and provide a community that welcomes families of all faiths and backgrounds. Our families are all uniquely different but work beautifully together and respect one another. It's pretty neat to see. Come check us out and see what all the fuss is about!
Frequently Asked Questions
We are so happy you are here inquiring about our community!
What is Ozark Mountain Homeschoolers?
We are a community of parents in Southwest Missouri that meet once a week to provide classes, hands on learning, field trips and social opportunities for our children. Our community also serves as a support to homeschool parents on this homes education journey through Mom's events and our online parent group. We meet on Mondays, September - April, in Kimberling City.
How much does it cost to be a part of Ozark Mountain Homeschoolers co-op?
Tuition to join and attend our classes each month is $35 a month, per student plus a $15 supply fee (once a semester).
How do I pay?
We offer an online payment option on our website or cash/check can be dropped in our lockbox at the sign-in table on Mondays.
Can we stay in the building while classes are in session?
Yes, you are absolutely able to stay. You are also welcome to drop and go. You do not have to commit to one or the other. You choose what fits best for your family. We do however invite you to stay and build friendships and connect with other moms in our little community. You do not have to commit to staying or going. You choose what fits best for your family. Some parents grab a chair and hang out in the hall close by, and others stay in the parent area and check on their child throughout the day. We want every child to feel safe & supported! Let us know how we can help to accomplish this!
If I join Ozark Mountain Homeschoolers, will I have to teach a class?
No, teaching a class is not a requirement though we love when our parents share their talents with our students. We do ask that you volunteer on a Monday at co-op at least once a month.
How will I know if classes are cancelled due to inclement weather conditions?
We follow the cancellations of Branson Public Schools (Reeds Spring does not meet on Mondays). We will announce these changes on our private Facebook page as well as the public page, so please make sure to check there.
What happens if I am a volunteer helper and I’m sick?
We understand that sometimes there are circumstances out of your control and you may not be able to fulfill your volunteer commitment for many reasons. We can re-schedule you, no problem! Please reach out to the volunteer coordinator or one of our organizers and let them know via text.
